What SQE1 asks of you

Two Functioning Legal Knowledge papers, FLK1 and FLK2, of 180 single-best-answer questions each. Closed book, five options a question, sat at Pearson VUE. Each paper is scaled out of 500 and passed separately.

  • FLK1: business law and practice, dispute resolution, contract, tort, the legal system, public law and legal services.
  • FLK2: property practice, land law, wills and estates, trusts, criminal law and practice, and solicitors’ accounts.
  • Ethics and professional conduct is examined pervasively across both papers, so it is threaded through the bank rather than boxed off.
